The Bible recycling verses?

I’ve never noticed this before. Proverbs 14:12 and Proverbs 16:25 say exactly the same thing. What’s up with that? Is that a mistake? Did Solomon intentionally repeat himself? Was it for emphasis? Are there any other duplicated verses in the Bible? If you have any insight on this matter, please share.

  1. There are a ton of duplicated phrases in the Bible, my personal favorite declares God:

“”The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness”

    Exodus 34:6
    Numbers 14:18
    Nehemiah 9:17
    Psalm 86:15
    Psalm 103:8

I do think things like that are for emphasis, not a mistake.

  2. Thanks for the example! (I didn’t really think it was a mistake.) 🙂

  3. I didn’t really think that you thought that either.

Tell your rockstar husband I said, “Hello.”
