List #75: Atlanta!

On Friday Jason and I decided to get away from work and life for a day. (A one day vacation!) We drove to Atlanta for the day. Here’s what we did:

1. It’s about a 4-hour drive and we both agree that the car-ride conversation is one of the best parts of every road trip we go on. This seems to be true only when it’s just us. It’s just a great catch-up time.

(he hates when I take pictures while he’s driving.)

2. We stopped at Chick-fil-A for lunch on the way because we couldn’t wait until we got there. (This tradition is in honor of the birthplace of Chick-fil-A.)

3. Once we got there we hit up IKEA and West Elm.

4. Then went out for dinner at RuSan’s. You may know, RuSan’s is our favorite sushi place in Nashville. It’s also our favorite sushi place in Atlanta and we go to the original location almost every trip! (Another tradition!)

5. We did a little more shopping because it was raining all day and we couldn’t really walk around downtown. We found a Lindt chocolate store in the Lenox mall. My favorite!!

6. After the mall, the rain had finally stopped so we putzed around Atlantic Station for a little while and then left for home.

We were in Atlanta for about 8.5 hours totally which was plenty of time for our casual, no-plans getaway. And of course the ride home conversation was really good. All in all, the whole day was exactly what we needed, especially after not seeing each other for several days in a row last week. It was so much better than I had even expected. I love my man!
