And Puppy Makes Four

Two years and two days ago, on April 7, 2007 Jason and I adopted Lucy. (If you have haven’t already, you can read her story here.)

Lately Jason’s been itching to get another one. I don’t know why. I’m quite happy with just having Lucy. He thinks she needs a playmate. While I’m sure she’d enjoy having a playmate, I’m not sure if need is the right word. But, last week while out to dinner with Jason’s parents his mom mentioned that Grandma Joan (who is recovering from a mild stroke) may need to find someone to take over care of her cocker spaniel puppy, CoCo. Jason without a second of hesistation said, “We’ll take her!”

We discussed it more later, and decided that if Grandma Joan wanted us to have her, we would gladly accept. See, I’m such a submissive wife! 😉

Yesterday Jason was going to call him mom and ask if she talked to Grandma Joan about CoCo yet. Before he had a chance, she called to say that Grandma would like to accept our offer. Mom and Dad are bringing her home next week when they return from their visit to Erie. We got this picture message yesterday, the first time we’ve seen her:

We’re very excited and a little nervous! Does anyone have any tips on bringing a second dog into your home?

  1. Sorry no tips on dogs….we just let our cats smell each other from opposite sides of a closed door….I’m not sure if it works the same.

Good luck, she looks adorable! Can’t wait to see more pictures.
